Winter has come. It's windy. It's raining. It's 8pm and night-time. I'm going to go for a walk in the dark.
Yuck, reminds me of my least favorite time of year here (Victoria, British Columbia), i.e., end of October when we lose Daylight Savings Time. Then, 4-5 months of crap weather and short days. Sun sets at 4:20 pm on Dec 21st here.
Aren't you a retired person? Are you an outdoors person? If so, get your butt up to British Columbia. We're just starting 5 months of fabulous weather. Sun sets at 9:20 pm on June 21st. Outstanding hiking, kayaking, fishing, general outdoors adventuring. Here's a photo I took yesterday at the top of the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail on the SW coast of Vancouver Island.

Here's a great little piece of architecture on the Vancouver Island beach (shot yesterday).

If you can handle a 400k file, here's a 180° panorama shot from a hilltop behind the house I lived in last year on Salt Spring Island, BC. The islands and mountains in the background are in Washington state, USA. The snow capped peaks in the far right part of the shot are part of the Olympic Range.

I hate the (cold, rainy, dark) winters here. Eventually, I hope to spend them in New Zealand. I always hear it's much like British Columbia.
