FWIW, just as last week, I didn't find anything of significance in Barron's this week concerning PMs. In his Economic Beat column, Epstein explained why the increase in the unemployment rate isn't a problem for the economy. Of course, Abelson, in his column gave the opposite view and suggested that we are in a recession. The GMI/POG ratio for this week:: On 5/03, the Barron's GMI was 312.90, down slightly from the previous week's value of 313.50. With the POG up to 266.60 (5/04), the ratio was down slightly to 1.17. The ratio a year previously was 1.09. Cheers, Larry
