Robin,
The more I review what has happened to PRLN, the more infuriated I get. PRLN could absolutely have products on the market right now. All they had to do was market AndroVir and AndroCar as dietary supplements for the general public while indirectly disseminating information to the AIDS and cancer communities about their potential benefits. If you go online and review product descriptions for some of the herbal remedies currently available, all kinds of unsubstantiated medical benefits are being claimed for everything from herbal extracts to activated charcoal. Yet, when you buy these products in the store, they come with directions on how to take the product but saying nothing more. Why doesn't the FDA classify these types of products as drugs? I'll tell you why. The claims are being made by third parties and NOT the manufacturers. Manufacturers can't be held liable for what others say about their products. Hence, the FDA can't accuse them of making false claims not backed up by clinical trials. The same thing happened with vitamins a few years back. Vitamin manufacturers started claiming medical benfits for thier products, so the FDA threatened to clamp down. Once they stopped doing that, the FDA backed off. Yet, many people still take vitmains because they believe they are medically beneficial.
Rhodes stuck his foot WAY in his mouth because he told the FDA "We intend to market these products directly to AIDS and cancer patients!" What a total fool. Now, PRLN will be lucky to turn a profit within the next 10 years and that's IF they get a big backer. To make matters worse, we all know he's intentionally lied to us and deceived us repeatedly. If PRLN goes under, there may be no way to get my money from the company. However, I will aggressively pursue the possibility of suing Rhodes personally if this happens. He owes each and every one of us and his actions have bordered on criminal. Even if I can't sue him and win, I will take great pleasure in seeing him squirm. It would be worth everything I've lost on PRLN stock three times over.
As for the meeting, I will see if I can be there too but I'm not sure at this point. I have to travel to NY that weekend anyway for my 20th year high school reunion but I'm afraid attending the meeting may put me in such a bad mood I wouldn't be able to enjoy it.
