JF, There is a sucker born for every minute of every day was said 130 years ago, now there are 10 times as many. Beats me. I have compared P-3, P-4 and Athlons I cannot find any reason to buy a P-4. They cost more and work more slowly than Athlons that are 300 mhz slower. they are hardly better than P-3 if you compare a 1200 P3 to a 1400 P4 the P3 is better, and an Athlon ir far better. I feel it is a gutted chip thrust into the breach because Intel had nothing faster than 1200 and the Athlon was going to be 1400+ soon and the P-3 was unable to go faster than 1200. So they made a stripped down P-4 that would work with their .18 process and will release the full P4 late this year or early next year. It may well be a better part, but AMD is not standing still ao Intel may still be behind the 8 ball. Dell, is also trapped, they are a 1 trick cowboy and cannot get AThlons even if they wanted to get them as they are alocated. Bill
