*OT* Secretariat, I believe. However, it was under very fast conditions, so while the Beyer Speed Figure was good, it was only the best since Unbridled in 1990. I have no idea what Secretariat's Beyer number was, or even if they had that back then.

My horse story: A friend of mine's father was a trainer at Belmont Park, and told us to put everything we had on Ferdinand in the '86 Derby. We never made it to the OTB place, and Ferdinand won at 30-1 odds. To heck with stocks; I blew my only 30-bagger at the horse track.

XAU has a nice sustainable-looking uptrend there.
