OT OT-- If I had anything worthwhile to share about AMAT, I would. I leave that to Brian, and appreciate his efforts.

However, re the Human Rights Commission<<I'm not sure you can blame Dubya for this one.>> Not only did I see it that way, but the NY Times did also. In addition, one of my heroes, Ted Turner, paid the US debt to the UN, which, to me, was an embarrassment caused by Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms.

Finally, My LT political theory is that we have a universal god, the dollar, and a universal religion and morality--making a dollar is good and losing one is bad. Therefore, the Chinese, are bound by trade concerns, War is no longer feasible in that it kills potential customers or potential workers. It is an increasingly global economy, and we need each other. After all we have McDonalds in Beijing and many of my electronic goods are from China.

I might have mentioned this before, but one of my graduate students, from Ghana, told me her sister was hired by a big accounting firm, I think Peat something, at $2000 per yr, and does her work via the internet. More globalization is coming, making the threat of war no longer to any national interest.

However, I am afraid of religious conflicts as they seem less amenable to reason.
