Alibris is expensive because they act as brokers, as I suspect is the case with Amazon. Also, they are not book people. A group of investors bought a service called Interloc a few years ago and turned it into Alibris. These two sites are consortiums (consortia?) of independent used book sellers. All the oldtime dealers list with both of these sites. You deal directly with the individual bookseller. bibliofind.com abebooks.com Birchers have long touted Tragedy and Hope as "proof" of "the conspiracy." I think they point to one passage that mentions that there are international groups who work behind the scenes to drive global policy. He goes on to say that the men in these groups prefer not to be identified, but their intentions are benevolent. Of course, it was written in the mid 60s. I don't think too many identities are concealed now. This book is an interesting response to Tragedy and Hope bibliofind.com The 5th one down, Nutmeg Books, is a friend of mine. If you write or call him he'll be happy to send you his monthly catalog. He gets some wild and wooly stuff, and some important stuff. He's very knowledgeable and his catalog is fun to read even if you never buy anything.
