It was not a question of interpreting an ambiguous Florida law. The ruling of the Florida Supreme Court was mainly on equity grounds, as was the assumption of the case by the SCOTUS. It was alleged, under the 14th Amendment, that the order of the Florida Supreme Court was defective, and deprived Bush of fair treatment, insofar as there were not clear standards articulated........
