Maybe not today, but soon

TMTA has a very substantial unlock of almost 110 million shares representing over 80% of the shares outstanding. My guess is it will take more than a day or two for the market to "digest" these shares.

While today's deal with Toshiba is good news, it is offset by INTC's increasing aggression in the low-power space. See, for example, news.cnet.com which details CPQ's close cooperation with INTC in so-called "ultradense" servers. As AMD learned long ago, INTC is a formidable competitor which should never be underestimated. (As an aside, the company which should really be worried about ultradense servers is SUNW, not TMTA).

TMTA's real promise lies less in its current power advantages than in the superior flexibility of their architecture. While initial Crusoe design wins are important, what will really determine whether TMTA can challenge INTC is the pace at which TMTA can evolve the Crusoe line in comparison with "hardwired" microprocessors. Until the next generation or two is unveiled this will still be very much an open question.
