Just bear in mind your state (or a state nearby) at some point in the future may flirt with deregulation. Completely botched (a la California) or otherwise, I've yet to find any situation where it has benefitted the consumer. You should read what happened when they deregulated natural gas in some southern states.

Just remember that electricity generation, transmission and more importantly trading does not respect state boundaries. Think about what's happened to Oregonians.

Of course companies love customers who do not question the system in place or the motives and actions of the players involved. All the better when a company can screw customers and the sheeple ask for more (and harder) in the name of "free markets." It really doesn't get any better for them than that. LOL
