It's been my experience here in Chicago the past 2 years meeting with Fortune 500 companies that M-Commerce is nothing more than a "long term strategic focus". I enjoy techno-gadgets as much as anybody else. I carry a laptop, pda, pager digital cell phone and solar cell watch (seriously). Yet I don't see myself using any of the silly mobile gadgets and protocols out there. You see, the small screens of all PDAs are just too cumbersome. Mobile computing will have to wait for wide availability of eye monitors (like the one in the ad from IBM where the monitor is projected to a head mounted eye display) . Only then will I read my e-mail on the go... Mark my words. Mobile computing will not be the best thing until we find a way to take a decent size monitor with you.
