Re: AMD's ALWAYS-DELAYED 760MP server chip set seems to have too many GLITCHES

That's your conclusion after reading about another data-corrupting piece of junk shipped by Intel? And when it's nothing less than a SHV (standard high volume) server?

If AMD isn't sure that a product is safe, they hold it back. I've stopped specifying Intel products after cases like this, the three RIMM 820, the MTH, the 1.13 PIII, etc.

Intel's overhead is way too high, they are desperate to dump anything into the channel that will gain them a little short term revenue - and it shows.

AMD has growing market share and comfortable profitability. They can afford to take their time and ship only high quality products - and it shows.

You really should have let that particular post alone. It demonstrates why SUN is still so strong. You can hammer on SUN servers day and night and they slow way down, but stay up and don't lose data.

Intel's lightweight fluff products screw up whenever the loads get high - and the industry knows it. That's why buyers keep lining up for SUN's overpriced, underperforming products.

For how many months was Intel shipping a production "server" that fell on its face whenever it was faced with server loads?
