OT...One of my strange but true stories.

I'm a fan of science fiction. So, on my way home yesterday, I was musing about if I could go back in time for a moment, I could go back to Jan.,2000 and write myself a note about when to sell, buy over the next 1 1/2 years.
Of course, I would make a fortune.

On the other hand, the time line could be disturbed ( as Jean-Luc Picard would say). I was thinking that I could be involved in a terrible accident because of the possible change in random events. This road traveled instead of that road. This speed instead of that speed. etc.

So I decided to slow down, count my blessings and enjoy the scenery. I got to enjoy it for about 30 seconds.

Just as I was about to get on a bridge that crosses the local river, I noticed that a 10 foot trailer had come unhitched from it's pick up truck that was traveling in the other direction. The trailer ( traveling about 50 mph) crossed the center line and came into my lane about 40 yards in front of me. Sparks were flying from the hitch hitting the pavement.

I braked and swerved off of the road just as the trailer whizzed by me and the car behind me until it veered to the left and crashed into the trees.

If I hadn't slowed my speed before the bridge, I would have been on the bridge with nowhere to go but into the trailer head on.

When people lose money in the market, they may have a friend or spouse who says "We still have each other. Don't worry. We still have our health. etc" .

Guess what?....They're right.
