This is exactly what I was leading up to some weeks ago. What happens to a former Dell IT manager who loses his job? Where does he find a similar job in or near Austin?
Now we know. If he's lucky, he can sell lawn sprinklers.
Austin's a great place, don't get me wrong. But the law of gravity still exists, and booms will be followed by busts, and here we have all the ingredients of a Texas-style bust.
OK, so, what message does this send to those thousands of college grads who are about to enter the job market, with their degrees in IT or whatever?
