Another seven satellites going up for Iridium on a Proton rocket from Kazakhstan 18 June. So the competition is really underway! They have another launch due in September on another Proton rocket. Each launch costs $60 million. A third will be next year.

This is much better than having these rockets carrying nukes, for which they were originally intended. It remains amazing to me that some people think that war and preparation for it is economically productive. I guess they are the same people who worry that the economy is doing really well, that unemployment is down and production is up. Share prices seem to drop on greatly advanced revenue and increased profit! Oh well, it all creates opportunities for me.

I guess some bright spark will say, "See, preparations were productive. Proton rockets are available and wouldn't have been without war preparation". I refuse to explain the lack of logic in that statement. Sure, fear is a spur. But playing let's blow each other up to create fear is loopy.

Any sensible person can experience enough fear to keep them moving by developing awareness of their natural surroundings. We don't need to create it from nothing. Has anybody heard of 10 km diameter comets and asteroids? That will give you enough fear to be going on with.

Most of us feel enough fear and anxiety just trying to get through the traffic to an appointment.

Dow 7575 Joe!

[Hmmm, maybe Globalstar should shoot down Iridium satellites to improve EBIT, DCF and customer satisfaction. If Iridium does the reverse, we should all be really well off and the stock prices will take off.]

PS Rick, being ahead in time in New Zealand, I can reply to things before you post them! We read tomorrow's papers today. It is already 4pm Thursday 12 June here. That is also good for knowing which shares to buy. I tried Swiss Francs several years ago, but they went wrong, then recovered, then I bailed out before they really went wrong. Didn't lose. But didn't gain. I think the Swiss have had their day. They can't get any more Nazi supplied gold and with financial systems deregulated and borders open, money moves very easily. Nobody needs them now.

Thanks for the nice comments you are going to make soon! I suggest you write the following: " Still holding my position in Loral Space. The discussion on this thread is quite interesting and engaging! Thank you Maurice for your generous insight.....I always enjoy visiting this part of SI."
