Outpost.com Gerbil Returns After His Stunt Biz Stint Comes Back in Time to Celebrate Company's 6th Birthday KENT, Conn., May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Outpost.com (Cyberian Outpost, Nasdaq: COOL) today announced that its Gerbil has returned to the Internet technology retailer following a few anxious years as Founder of the now defunct Small Furry Animal Stunt School in Providence, Rhode Island. His return comes as the company prepares to celebrate its 6th birthday today.
``He called me up out of the blue,'' said Darryl Peck, President and CEO of Outpost.com. ``He pleaded, 'Hey, Darryl. I'm looking for work. Whadda ya got? I'll do anything.'''
According to Peck, the Gerbil told him that immediately following his starring role in Outpost.com's ``Gerbil Shot From a Cannon'' commercial a few years back, he decided to start a stunt school for other furry animals. ``Apparently, that really didn't take off,'' said Peck. ``A couple hamsters and a shrew signed on, but that was it. Not really enough to put gerbil food on the table, you know? A Small Furry Animal related Internet initiative may have been the final blow.''
Peck offered the Gerbil a cushy job in the marketing department. Upon hearing of the launch of Outpost's new ground delivery service the Gerbil stated, ``That's great, because Gerbils don't fly, unless, of course, one has a cannon handy.'' The rodent was last seen climbing out of the company's birthday cake. |
