well, these dudes are even shorting reserves of which they aren't sure yet whether they'll ever mine them. it's all a question of proportionality...being short almost 17 million oz. when one produces 3.7 million annually is rather out of whack i'd say. it has gone way beyond 'prudent hedging of risk'. not to mention that selling one's own product massively short is not exactly a vote of confidence... not to worry about CSCO...they'll spread good vibes at the CC...what for do you think they took the write-off? observer.com
