Ram,
"VLNC has got Taiwan, India, China, Malaysia, and Korea. Who is next?"
How about the kingdom of Tonga? <G>
Om a serious note, it's been my assumption that the quoted 2 - 6% refers to royalties only, the variation being a function of what the license encompasses. There is the basic chemistry, the powders, and the production technology & equipment, some or all of which may be licensed. I think the sale of laminates will generate additional revenues for Valence (lots of revenues!) and may not necessarily have to be licensed by the buyer. This is because Lev said last year that he would be willing to sell films to anyone who wanted it.
If Samsung were able to come to an agreement this fast, I think we may see additional customers from Lev's list signing on in the coming days and weeks. We could have a great spring this year, especially if the Naz cooperates for a while.
A year ago, all the news announced by Valence in the past few weeks (PDA & modem battery PO's, two licensees for VLNC patented technology, $1 million from an ex-Telcordia licensee, and $6 million or more from the IDB) would have driven the stock up at least 15 or 20 points, but I'll take these small steps without complaint. We've come a long way from the bottom in just a few weeks.
Regards,
