We've done pretty well on the debate thread, I think. Things have flared up a few times but it has always self-corrected. I like that thread most of the time. It has quite a variety of perspectives and characters who, for the most part, are able to discuss issues civilly. We get differences of opinion that are more or less individual and not conspicuously partisan. We have liberal and libertarian and conservative perspectives represented but you rarely see anyone talk in terms of Republicans and Democrats, which, IMO, is a very good thing. When things flare up, we have some interlopers who pop in and try to stir things up further by taking pot shots without offering anything of substance, which is very annoying, but they usually don't stick around long.
I lopped the GWB bookmark off my list permanently. Between the partisanship and the irritant you mentioned, I can't even stand to read it, much less participate.
The LWP is a pleasant place to come and be free from discord. And have a cup of tea. I'm very happy to have been invited.
