The classic example of the finches is irrefutable, and there are similar examples elsewhere. However, these are intra- species variations not essentially different from breeding. Inter- species variations are more obscure. Even granting them, the questions linger about the leap from single to multi cellular organisms, or the change from plants to animals, or the development of systems of some complexity. Even assuming the usual "however improbable, it can happen" argument, the point is that it is reasonable to assume an underlying source of order. Divine "pressure" would not be observable, except in the sense that things came out right. When Pluto was discovered, it was by inference from anomalies in the orbits of observed planets. In the same way, even if not conclusive, one may reasonably speculate on a designer given the extreme unlikelihood of achieving such sophisticated results through chance incremental changes.........
