i don't think it has anything to do with that. the truth is, the BoE's sales have never really mattered as far as the fundamental picture is concerned. their sales are but a drop in the structural supply/demand deficit ocean. the effect really was only psychological, and the format of the sales was imo deliberately designed to inflict maximum psychological damage, denials notwithstanding.
