Well, that would be more appropriate to my situation. I've been dollar cost averaging in mutual funds, IRAs (mutual funds), and 401Ks (mutual funds) for many many years (since I was 22, which was an eon ago). Then in my brokerage, I have been much more eratic, but I'd say I've bought Cisco about 10-12 times over the last 5 years, a third of those being in the first year I after I bought my first Cisco shares (I bought and sold a few times before I went long).

So over a very long period of time, I've found DCA to be an excellent way to ride out storms like these. Each to his/her own.
