This past week Mike and Steve met with Dave Gaskin, Connie
Davis, and Tom Gray of the Nevada Department of Environmental
Protection (NDEP) and Craig Smith and Alan Buehler of the Bureau
of Land Management to discuss the delay in posting our bond. Our
discussions centered on reducing the required bond amount by
amending the just approved permit. The amendment will require
delaying the mining of ore in the pit for about a year, and allowing
us to "re-mine" the ore on the leach pad by processing it with
gravity methods. We estimate that we will recover between 20,000
to 40,000 of gold, which will cover all of our operating costs of the
entire company. Both agencies agreed to cooperate and move this
amendment through quickly. They were impressed when Steve
showed them a recent gold pour which weighed about 15 pounds of
dore". Steve also showed them a gold pan full of small flakes of
gold, which was taken from a 1000 pound sample of crushed ore
from the Drinkwater Pit.

We expect the amendment to be approved and new lower bond
posted by the end of May. Gold production can then take place on
a significant scale.
