A must read for all (especially starting with paragraph 11 which tells you what the White House thinks of things right now). It's long and sometimes technical and boring but well worth the read.

Here is one telling quote near the end.

An historic technology bubble collapse with major consequences for the financial system and economy; no problem. Just create $100s of billions of new money and "reliquefy." Don’t dismiss this issue of contemporary money as a key source behind this almost magical arrangement for Wall Street and the GSEs to perpetuate the bubble. And don’t think for a moment that there is not a great price to pay from such an exceedingly unstable system with a proclivity for wild excess
