Well, Mr. Mark, my new PC arrived today... a week early! I am awash in a sea of cables.

I have an old monitor that I finally got out of the back of a storage closet (had to move a bunch of heavy boxes to get it). So far I have been unable to get the old CPU box out of some bookshelves in a tangle of cables. My desk is pushed up against the bookshelves and I can't move it. I will eventually get it out, but may have to ask my neighbor to help me.

My plan:
1) put a splitter on the cable and set up both PCs
2) hook up my old monitor to my old PC
3) copy stuff I want to transfer on my old PC to zip disks
4) when all stuff is copied, get someone to help me move the zip drive in the old PC to the new PC, then save the data on the new PC
5) get rid of old PC

Does this sound like it will work?

Norma

Oh heck, I just realized I only have one Time Warner (Road Runner) external modem, so I guess I can't have the internet on both PCs.

Note: I don't know anything about PCs. Aarrgghh!

Oh, and I am just assuming the new PC will work, what if it doesn't? I currently have Windows 95, is Windows 2000 Professional very different to learn?
