Rudedog, Taken from your post on the CPQ board: ""Tom was one of the major forces - if not THE major force -behind the development of DELL's successful business model. But he was opposed to the retrenchment that DELL has taken recently. Like me, he sees the PC business as largely tapped out, and DELL's position in that market as a rearguard action, not a winning strategy. He was a big proponent of DELL investing in higher end products at higher margins, rather than selling low end servers like "big PCs", and with PC margins. Just wondering how you got such first-hand knowledge of his thoughts and how they relate to his resigning only a few hours after it supposedly occurred? How "inside" are you down there in Texas?
