Paul, Looks like Stroligo sold out to the dark side, or the foolish side.

In my stores we get a few AMD parts back by overclockers or people who crack the die or who use white paste instead of phase change or silver heat paste. Since a lot more systems are put together by individuals who may not be optimal in their assembly technique.
Few Intel systems are made this way.
This in fact is a growing wave of people who do this and it is influencing the stores, more mobs and more and better power supplies.

I just attended the AMD dog and pony show in Toronto for VARS and it was attended by nearly 1000 people from a few hundred miles around. repeat that by all the global dog and pony shows they are planning and there is going to be a huge increase in SD shop Athlons in the near future, say by the fall?

They covered what they called the 7 deadly sins of SD shop assembly, I will not list them here, but they consist of obvious assembly errors to avoid, wrong power supply, wrong heat sink, chipping dies etc.

There were many component vendors there and it was an excellent effort by AMD in conjunction with assorted partners.
