The "Blue Slip Policy" for selection of Judges will continue. This is ironic because the policy was adopted by the Republicans as a check on Clinton appointees. Now, the policy is being implemented by the Democrats as a check on Bush appointees. The ABA has been taken out of the process by the Republicans so the Judiciary Committee needs more time to study the appointments. So far, only one blue slip has been used on an appointment from North Carolina.
