<<<In any case, the Hyksos, never popular, were finally driven from power, and were finally cast out of Egypt. However, it is not known with certainty if the Hyksos were the Hebrews.>>>>

Your research is flawed as the Hyksos were not the Hebrews. The Hyksos were a nomadic tribe that had conquered the Lower Delta in Egypt hundreds of years before Joseph had ever come on the scene. More than likely they had come from the east and ruled with an iron fist, thus the Egyptians were held in bondage and suffered terribly for many years. It finally took a coalition of forces and a number of Kings to permanently oust them. From then on nomadic herdsmen were viewed with suspicion and such was the fear and hostility that Egyptians considered it an abomination to even eat in the same room with certain outsiders. Notice that this practice was in effect before Joseph ever called his kinsmen down from Canaan into Egypt.

Joseph was very careful in instructing his people how to respond to Pharaohs questions. He wanted to make it quite clear in the eyes of Pharaoh that they were in no way related or affiliated with the conquering shepherds of old. His people had no intentions of ruling and this Pharaoh so fascinated with Joseph and how he had saved his country from complete devastation believed his every word. Only after this Pharaoh died did the new Pharaoh begin to have suspicions of the Hebrews. It was he who subjected them to a life of bondage, and it was never the other way around.
