Dr. Siegel's work is indeed interesting. I remember back in '99 and early in 2000, he was actually bearish for the only time in his career, at least the only time that I can remember.

Note that while he does indeed state that for any 30 year time period that stocks outperform all other investment vehicles, a 30 year time horizon is also only appropriate for a small subset of investors.
