A couple of points. First, I don't quite understand the old thread's obsession with this one. Actually, it's really just 2 guys' obsession, post after post.
As for people trying to "steal" posters, I'm sure that pales in comparison with all the vitriol passing for wit on the old thread which drives people away (just look at the last 100 posts on the Boom thread or this thread if you want to see your old friends) as the reason for your thread being down to about 5~6 regular posters. Besides, we don't have any issues like that ("stealing threadsters"--novel thought, that) here and I personally have recommended other threads on SI to the posters here. You could look it up. I guess if you provide a clean, well-lighted place you don't have to worry about brain drain.
I don't suppose people would go back to visit and make fun (come on, you guys are supposed to have a sense of humor, that's what all the "vbg" stuff is about, right?) if it weren't for all the misrepresentation that goes on there. According to the disinformation, HTP is populated by a group of clones who all bought tech at Naz 3800, who never shorted an energy stock until last week, who own no gold, and who have never been anything but a day late and a dollar short. Not only is there a huge divergence of opinion here, on this thread, but plenty of fundamental disagreements on just about everything. And it's odd but Tommasso, Michael Happel, JimP, JimL, Warpfactor and the others can all post these different opinions without getting mugged, and having their names changed to Tobasco and Happless in the process.
The truth is, the old thread was a sick thread and is a sick thread, and will be a sick thread until it dies. It has had nothing to do with energy or drillers for a looooooong time. Courtesy and manners and "good fellowship" count for something (quite a lot, actually) in the real world, and in the cyberworld as well. A while back I took a random "batch" of 100 consecutive posts on the old thread. Two guys accounted for 56 of them (and, believe me, there wasn't much info inside those 56 posts).
Finally, as for the jab that somehow I might step in and delete your post over here--you still don't get it, do you? That's not how this operation works, which is why we have many varied opinions every day, plenty of good humor and a pretty nice place to hang out.
Finally, don't take this as a subterfuge to "steal" you as a poster, but please feel welcome to post here again.
