Can you help us get a clear picture of this "eDirectory for Free" to Developers

I've yet to read all the small print but as far as I can tell, the answers are

>>1) If a developer creates a "product" that leverages eDirectory - do customers of this product need "licenses" for >>eDirectory? If so, what is the cost of said licenses?

Unless the user(or maybe object count) increases beyond 250,000 items in the directory there is no additional licensing costs. Don't forget that this license is in regard of the supplied application, so the end user is unable
to then use eDirectory as a general LDAP service.

>>2) Are developers required to "inform" Novell of customers that deploy products leveraging eDirectory? If so, are >>there any "issues" that would keep Novell from "selling into that account" (other products I mean)?

The contract reads

"The version of eDirectory distributed by (the Company) will be non-functional and will require the End User to obtain an enabling key directly from Novell. Novell will make this key available at no charge to the End User via
Novell's web site or other medium determined by Novell.
