So this person feels he can speak for "the bulk of the developers" at the BREW Conference? Why shouldn't the carrier be the one who controls the applications on their network?

It will take years to completely wean people away from the internet model of distribution. Everyone should have access to everything....and it should all be free.

I dont completely understand how BREW is going to work....but it seems to me that it would be in the carrier's best interest to offer all of the BREW developed applications. They could charge extra for a premium placement on the first screen....but I would think they would still want to offer as many applications as possible. At least, that's how I hope they are thinking....
