It is, therefore, as close to a certain call as there can be that the Fed will out interest rates by a further 50 basis points at the May 15 policy meeting. We also expect that there will be an additional 100 basis points of rate cuts by the middle of the third quarter.

Wow! The Fed has already cut interest rates by an average of 25 basis points per month since the beginning of this year. In the above quote, Angell is predicting that this trend will continue through next quarter. If it continues beyond that, we will have a 0.00% interest rate by year end. Japanese-style Downward Spiral, here we come!

I hope you all have your crash helmets snugly secured, and have prepared for impact. My investment recommendations (and my own IRA allocations) now are: cash (government funds, not money market), Prudent Bear fund (BEARX), precious metals (NEM, BGEIX, PAAS), and a tiny speculative position in curing cancer (VION).
