Fair enough, but only if we are to believe that I (as an internet consumer) require more data storage the more other internet consumers there are.

I think this kind of analysis would be true if the Internet really were peer to peer, and if most users sent and stored as much data as they received and had stored about them. As it stands, the internet is like televsion. Most users visit a few big sites. An additional user is going to increase storage demands for those big sites, but not for other users.

Given the above, I'd say that it's more reasonable to say storage needs grow linearly with the number of internet users.
