In the post in question, you used the terms software engineer and software writer, not programmer. In the context of the post, I took software writer to mean software engineer, not programmer. Are you saying I am mistaken?

President DoGood knows that the software engineers have little pull compared to the wealthy multinational corporations that want to bring every possible penny to the bottom line.

Pride is easily overcome by hungry children. Jean Valjean stole a loaf of bread; he certainly would have accepted it from the state.

You seem overly enamored of the "free market." Markets work far freer and better in the ivory towers of academia than in practice in the real world.
