-++ I had heard of Inco. Small nickel and copper mining company struggling to make ends meet in Levack or Coniston somewhere. Seems they got taken over by some fishermen at Voisey Bay and are now in a death struggle with some newfies who say it's time to smelt or cut bait. BTW, speaking of fishing my father was a master baiter.. but that's another story.

I fled Timmins when the mining industry got too exciting. I expect they will be scrapping Kirkland Lake soon. I doubt that the energy, money or belief will ever be there to start 500 million dollar underground mines for Gold. I think that died with JB. Tyrell. Not that the ore is not there. And blocked out too.

I think Royal Oak died with 7 million ounces proven and some that they didn't even know about. I know of a few ounces underground too. It almost seems that it will stay there forever. The federal government water and air boys hassled Kerr Addison for 20 years about roasting and copper in the water. It wasn't even the province that did it. But there is one idea. I know that with the new and better recovery methods for water and air pollution one could meet those standards and get water and air permits. But we still need 400 dollar gold and 300 million dollars to go mining some of these deposits. That alone is the show stopper.

Golden Shield and those boys spoiled the show there as they could not get the money, nor knew how to get the permits that they needed. Without roasting or autoclaving you cannot do it. And now that they tried many are saying that ore I knew was there 23 years ago is not.
