AMD, Intel, the Palomino and the P4 - Certain aspects of products from both AMD and Intel seem to be continuously overlooked. Many people believe that the Palomino will just be a slightly re architecture Athlon Thunderbird but we believe there is more to it than most believe. AMD's roadmap shows the Athlon Palomino making its debut at around 1533MHz. Considering that the PIII never made it past 1GHz on the .18 process, this is a great feat. Both the PIII and the Athlon feature a 10 stage pipeline, and 256K L2 cache, on a .18u process, yet the Athlon is still going strong and should reach a lofty 1.7GHz by the end of the summer. technicalbytes.com From: messages.yahoo.com
