I would agree that there is much in the Bible that I have read that I do not understand. Whether it is contradictory or not depends on the following, imho:

If one believes in God being being omniscient, infallible, the true and only Creator of the universe(including humanity), pure love, ultimately logical, etc.; then it easily follows that He can inspire men to write a book(s) that is/are very logical and non-contradictory.

Whether we as humans can see the Bible in the same light as God is another question.

It is quite easy for me to understand my household budget. My 10 year old son has an extremely difficult time understanding why he can't have everything he wants. We both live in the same house; there's only one checking account, yet it's possible for there to be two completely opposite views as to its existence, utility, accuracy, understanding, etc.

He sees it as contradictory and unfair that I take my wife away from the house to spend the weekend alone with her on her birthday.

The list of "contradictions" is endless for him. I have an entirely different viewpoint. -g-
