I'm not sure you are following. I am talking about contradiction--not misunderstanding. If you tell your son he can have everything he wants; then later you tell him he CAN't have everyting he wants--that is contradiction. If you tell him his mother ate potaoes for supper and no beans on May 10, 2001; then you tell him she ate beans but no potatoes--that is contradiction. When you assert two or more statements as true when only one of them may be logically true--you have contradiction.

You do not need to believe in the accepted standards of reason and logic, but you cannot employ those standards in legitimate argument if you deny their validity.
