Clinton Critical of Bush China Policy in Hong
Kong Remarks

In a speech that marked the close of Fortune Magazine's
Hong Kong Global Forum, disgraced ex-president Bill
Clinton suggested Thursday that the Bush administration
was wrong to abandon his own policy of strategic
partnership with China.

"Clinton appeared to caution the Bush administration
against its initial tough stand and confrontational
relations with the communist giant," reported Reuters.

In an apparent slap at the new Bush view that China is
more a competitor than a partner, Clinton urged:
