Signal Technology Details Previously Announced $7.5 Million Award
DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2001--Signal Technology Corporation (Nasdaq: STCO), a leading provider of electronics products for wireless communications and power management in the commercial, defense and space markets, today provided further details on the order for more than $7.5 million in multipoint customer premise equipment the company announced on January 11, 2001, identifying the customer as Nashua, NH-based Spike Broadband Systems, Inc. Spike, a leading provider of carrier class, fixed broadband access solutions, recently announced a $335 million deal in fixed wireless equipment for broadband data, video and voice communications deployment in Denmark.
As previously announced by Signal, the company has been selected as the primary supplier of 3.5 GHz multipoint radio technology for Spike Broadband's Continuum line of customer premise equipment (CPE) - the subscriber end of the fixed broadband network infrastructure. Signal will begin volume production of CPE shipments to Spike in the second quarter of this year.
