WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Investor Don C. Whitaker reported a 5.17% stake in
Calton Inc. (CN) and wants to submit a proposal for the next shareholder
meeting asking management to liquidate assets and give proceeds to
shareholders, according to an original Schedule 13D filed Friday with the
Securities and Exchange Commission.
Whitaker beneficially owns 214,400 common shares. According to the filing,
Whitaker said he believes management has unintentionally deceived itself in
trying to meet its stated strategic plan with a flawed diversification effort.
According to Whitaker, the best way to achieve this goal is to return assets
to shareholders.
