Micro Caps Leading The Bull Rally

There has been something going on in the stock market for the last month, which is renewing
enthusiasm that the year-long bear market is indeed over!

The rally in the micro-cap companies sector, the kind of companies we talk to and about here on
Emerging Company Report, have been leading the broader market rally, with some small stocks on a
rocket ride up.

Because of the low prices of many micro-cap stocks, larger positions can be taken by investors with a
lower amount of risk capital. This is fueling some momentum-buying frenzies like those we were
seeing 12-18 months ago.

Some wall street analysts think the micro-cap rally reflects a bullish attitude towards reborn
risk-taking, which could spearhead a move towards a broader and longer lasting recovery. They are
quick to point out that most bull markets have initially been led by the smaller stocks.

So are the bulls taking baby steps with the small stocks, beginning a broader rally? We’ll have to see
if the micro-cap upward moves start a fire in the major issues, but it will be interesting to watch
nonetheless.
