09:45 ET Dow +2, Nasdaq +2, S&P +3: [BRIEFING.COM] The markets have opened slightly higher on light volume and little conviction. Each of the major averages is favoring the flatline early with the Dow and Nasdaq both posting early single digit gains. On the broader markets, both retail and financials are experiencing mild buy interest and technology is mixed early. Gold and oil-related issues are selling off in the early going. Michigan Sentiment is due for release at the top of the hour and many traders may be holding off until we've seen all the economic data for the day.
