I tend to agree with your conclusion, though I get there a rather different way.

I have a working theory that we haven't even come close to seeing the full effect of insider selling (and by that I mean not from the board members who actually have to file SEC documents but the rank-and-file employees from the franchise owners on down). I admit having no evidence but I still strongly suspect many of the supposedly "unlocked" shares are being withheld from the market until the NYSE changeover so as to (in theory) provide a more liquid market and reduce the price impact of the selling.

Of course, the fact that all those May put options bears have been patiently sitting since November may now well go out worthless just a few days before the break they had been waiting for finally comes is coincidence, SHEER coincidence.

Then again I'm hopped up on steroids, so I'm probably completely high here.
