10:30 ET Dow -93, Nasdaq -5, S&P -6.42: [BRIEFING.COM] Looks like good news for the economy may be perceived as bad news for the markets -- at least for the moment. The major markets continue to trade lower on the back of stronger than anticipated economic data. In fact, the Dow is now posting a triple digit loss. Lehman Brothers is out saying there is now a chance the Fed will do a quarter point next week based on today's data. The firm is retaining its view that a half point cut will be the move but this morning's call demonstrates less confidence in its forecast. The question of whether the Fed will cut by a quarter or a half point on Tuesday is likely to drive the markets until the Fed's decision this Tuesday, May 15. DJTA -0.3%... DJUA -0.2%... SOX +0.7%... XOI -0.9%... BTK -0.5%... Nasdaq 100 -0.2%... S&P Midcap 400 -0.6%... Russell 2000 -0.4%... NYSE Adv/Dec 1090/1494... Nasdaq Adv/Dec 1310/1752.
