While your note was not aimed at me, I feel compelled to comment. In fact, at this end, a full-blown crash of the U.S. economy is exactly what I expect to transpire, although calling the timing won't be easy, given Greenspan's determined efforts to print his way out of the swamp.

Think it won't happen? Make the comparison with the thirties and you might change your mind. The only difference is that the numbers are much worse now than they were then.
