couple of thoughts on that....
regardless of what i think of felix's boxing skills, i have always found him to be a respectful athlete. he conducts himself at press conferences in a polite, matter-of-fact manner. he has great pride, indeed, but not the kind that is boastful and derisive. any good athlete must have pride, i'm sure everyone agrees.
having said that, i have read posts on this thread (and i don't remember who or when) that have found him to be quite the opposite. i was surprised that the same guy could be perceived so differently.
so whatever it is about him that rubs you the wrong way, certainly there are others who see it your way. and certainly there are many who pick against trinidad in nearly every fight (jxm, cough-cough). <g> i just don't know what it could possibly be, but i have heard enough folks say what you have said to know there has to be something to it.
personally, i wish more fighters would conduct themselves as a pro, like trinidad. he trains to win (he's a marathon runner, you know, and that's why he comes on at the end), he comes to win, and he will tell you, if you ask, that he will win.
he is 39-0 with 32 knockouts. he's been a champ for seven years.
what's not to like?
