Gores Technology Group, Citing Increased Deal Flow From Consolidation of Technology Industry,
Adds Top M&A and Operations Technology Executive
LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Gores Technology Group (GTG), a leading privately
held international acquisition and management company, today said that the consolidation in the
technology sector has resulted in a significant increase in ``deal flow'' for the company.
Accordingly, GTG said, to capitalize on that demand and to further bolster its management team, it
has added Douglas Bergeron, an accomplished senior technology executive known for both his
management and mergers and acquisitions skills, to its management team as Group President.

Prior to joining GTG, Mr. Bergeron was CEO of Geac Computer Corporation, Canada's largest
publicly traded software company. Geac has completed the acquisition of over twenty different
software businesses over the past five years and had revenues of C$990M in the fiscal year 2000.
From 1990 through 1999, Mr. Bergeron was CEO of various business units and groups of
companies controlled by SunGard Data Systems Inc., which has annual revenues in excess of
$1.5 billion. Mr. Bergeron was an instrumental force in leading the company through a series of
acquisitions, through which it became one of the world leaders in financial systems technology for
the derivatives industry, brokerage operations and exchanges.

Mr. Bergeron currently serves as a director of the Inter-American Economic Council, an
Organization of American States-sanctioned organization that promotes free trade among countries
in the Western Hemisphere. He received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science with
honors from York University in Toronto, Canada and his Master of Science in Systems
Management from the University of Southern California.

``Doug Bergeron's experience with both acquisitions and hands-on management in the international
computer and technology industry should prove extremely valuable in both evaluating new
opportunities that come our way and helping to maximize value in the businesses we acquire,'' said
Alec Gores, founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GTG. ``His background is a perfect fit
with our company's vision for the future.''

With headquarters in Los Angeles, Gores Technology Group (GTG) is a privately held international
acquisition and management firm that pursues an aggressive strategy of acquiring promising
high-technology organizations and managing them for growth and profitability. GTG has made a
name for itself by acquiring and successfully managing companies -- including many divisions
